Pair With GPS Device
Use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant to pair with you're bluetooth GPS. There is typically a four digit pin programmed into the device, you will find this in the product documentation. I find it handy to write the pin on the device for quick reference.
Create Bluetooth Serial Port
Open the Bluetooth Serial Utility:

Create a new port with the following options:
- Name btgps - this will appear in the GPS Plugin Preferences
- Port Direction outgoing - relative to the device
- Port Type RS-232 - good old fashioned serial
Click the "Select Device..." button and locate the GPS device you
paired with then select it's "Serial Port" service:

Configure GPS Plugin
Restart iStumbler if is was running, select the GPS Plugin and choose "Preferences..." from the iStumbler menu:
You should see the serial device you created in the list of GPS devices. Make sure the radio button next to btgps is selected, if iStumbler fails to respond after five seconds, you may have to force-quit and restart due to a bug in the FourCorners framework.
Done!
You should now be able to see the current location your Bluetooth GPS is reporting. Some tips for smooth operation:
- Turn on the GPS before starting iStumbler or Wake
- Quit iStumbler or Sleep before turning off the GPS
